Review: About That Kiss is book seven in the HeartbreakerBay series (if you count the novellas in between the full sized novels) and I think Jill Shalvis is finally getting a grip on this series. The previous books, with the exception of the novellas, all fell a bit flat in terms of plots and dialogs. I'm glad that About That Kiss more than compensates for that.
Kylie is an Ok character, but I didn't find her that amazing. She's strong when she wants to be, a bit strange on the side. Joe, though, is a dream come true and I loved how he could always be in control of everything - except when Kylie was around. Their dialogs are witty, borderline hilarious sometimes. From a romance point of view, they were just perfect together.
I did have a problem with the plot, though, because frankly the whole wood carving - sorry, wood penguin - kidnapping and subsequent "threatening" photos were a bit silly. That the suspense part of the book was based on that didn't really make sense to me, hence the four stars rating instead of five.
