So when her grandmother in the Hamptons needs help for the summer, it seems the ideal way to escape her past.
Their relationship might have lasted only a few scorching months, but vet Seth knows Fliss—if she's run away to the Hamptons, it's because she still feels their connection and it terrifies her. He let her go once before, when he didn't know any better, but not this summer! With the help of his adorable dog, Lulu, and a sprinkling of beachside magic, Seth is determined to make Fliss see that he's never stopped loving her…

Review: Holiday in the Hamptons is the book I enjoyed more so far in the From Manhattan with Love series by Sarah Morgan. And, to be honest, I never saw it coming because Fliss was a character I didn't expect much of. She left me pretty indifferent in book one (New York, Actually) and ever since I kept thinking her sister Harriet had more romantic potential.

But in this book Fliss presents us with an unexpected but totally welcoming depth. She's the soul behind the book, the reason the story works so well, and she makes Holiday in the Haptons much more than just another sweet romance with an happy ending.

Seth is also a very likable character, and I love the way he approaches Fliss. I wish they hadn't waited ten years before getting together again, but I understand they both needed to grow to be able to make it work the second time around. Holiday in the Hamptons is all about second chances, about learning to trust others and, more importantly, to trust yourself.

The cozy small town atmosphere is inviting and provides for a couple of laughs here and there, and that may also explain why I loved this book even more than the others.

Even though it's part of a series, Holiday in the Hamptons can be read as a stand alone, though I would recommend you to at least read book one (New York, Actually) to get some background on Fliss, Harriet and their brother - not because you'll need it so much but because it's also a great book you shouldn't miss if you love the genre.

Have a wonderful weekend,
