Review: Kissing her Enemy

Book Review: Kissing her Enemy, by Coleen Kwan

Amber Miller has worked hard to get her small business thriving. Now the Wright family wants to tear down her store to put up a mega center. What's even worse, the guy who broke her heart in high school is the new CEO of Wright Inc. He’s just as infuriating now—and just as tempting—as he was back then, but she isn't giving up without a fight.
Logan Wright is back in Pine Falls for one reason: to turn his dad’s failing company around. His plans should put them on the upswing. But he didn’t count on Amber Miller standing in his way, as fiery and stubborn as she was years ago. And the more time he spends with her, the harder it is to resist falling for her again. The only problem is he's everything she doesn't want.

Mature content: nothing other than a few hot kisses

Review: Kissing her Enemy is a sweet, heartwarming romance and those are really the best words to describe it. It's a book about second chances and compromises.

Amber and Logan have some past history together, but the budding romance that started when they were both teenagers never stood a chance, mostly due to some serious misunderstandings between them. Now they meet again, grown up and more mature, and realize that the mutual attraction is a strong as ever and not even the fact that they are "enemies" is sufficient to break this bond between them. Logan is trying to redevelop a whole block of his hometown in a desperate move to restore financial stability to his family's company. And Amber's store just happens to be in one of the properties that Logan needs to buy to make his project come true. The way they work around their disagreements and the fact they they both need to make concessions is an interesting lesson to take from this book.

The plot is not entirely original and some parts of it, including the happily ever after, are a bit unrealistic if you take the time to think them through. But if you just want to enjoy a lovely romance story without having to over-analyze every detail, then Kissing her Enemy is perfect for you and will definitely put a smile on your face.

Happy readings,
